6 Introduction to Musical Work Right Share Notification Profiles
The messages defined in Part 1 of the MWN standard can be used for different communication needs explained by the choreographies described in Clause 5 of Part 1 of the MWN standard. The flexible design of the messages means that in Part 1 of the MWN standard the XSD files only define the general message structure and do not enforce constraints to enable the use of the messages for specific communication purposes. Therefore, the following clauses describe Musical Work Right Share Notification Profiles, which are sets of constraints that apply to the use of the messages that are in addition to the specifications in Part 1. These additional constraints vary depending on the type of business or operational transaction the message is being used for.
Four such Profiles are described for use in specific business and operational transactions. However, this does not mean that the messages may not also be used in other scenarios.
Each Profile describes (i) which data is mandatory, (ii) which data elements must not be used and (iii) which data is optional, as long as that data is not explicitly excluded by the Profile. Further constraints may be defined in bilateral agreements between senders and recipients of the messages.
