8.3.1 Introduction

Clause 5.1 of Part 1 of the MWN standard describes the data exchange between rights holders and CMOs or DSPs. One of the use cases for this data exchange is the notification of rights conflicts from a CMO to music publisher(s).

In this Profile, the following constraints apply to the MusicalWorkClaimNotificationMessage:

  • Data in the ProfileId tag is mandatory and shall have the value ConflictNotification;

  • Data in the PartyList composite is mandatory;

  • Data in the WorkList composite is mandatory and shall only list musical works whose right shares are in conflict;

  • The RevocationReason in the MusicalWork composite shall not be used;

  • Data in the RightShareList composite is mandatory and shall list all right shares for all musical works in the message;

  • Data in the Conflict composite in the RightShareList composite is mandatory and shall group mutually conflicting right shares into separate Conflict composites, so that the recipient of the message can see which right shares conflict with each other; and

  • No data in the ResourceList, ReleaseList, ExploitationList and RightShareNotificationList composites shall be included in the message.
