8.2.1 Introduction

Clause 5.1 of Part 1 of the standard describes the data exchange between rights holders and CMOs or DSPs. One of the use cases for this data exchange is the revocation of right shares previously communicated by a music publisher to a CMO.

In this Profile, the following constraints apply to the MusicalWorkClaimNotificationMessage:

  • Data in the ProfileId tag is mandatory and shall have the value Revocation;

  • Data in the PartyList composite is mandatory;

  • Data in the WorkList composite is mandatory and shall only list musical works that are revoked;

  • Data in the Writer composite in the MusicalWork composite is mandatory, as writers shall be provided for all musical works;

  • Data in the MusicalWork composite(s) shall include the proprietary work identifier(s) used in the initial notification;

  • Data in the RevocationReason tag in the MusicalWork composite is mandatory; and

  • No data in the ResourceList, ReleaseList, ExploitationList, RightShareList and RightShareNotificationList composites shall be included in the message.
