8.4.1 Introduction

Clause 5 of Part 1 of the MWN standard describes the data exchange between rights holders and other companies such as record companies, CMOs and DSPs. One of the use cases for this data exchange is the communication of relationships between musical works and resources and/or Exploitations of the musical works, in which case right share data shall not be included.

In this Profile, the following constraints apply to the MusicalWorkClaimNotificationMessage:

  • Data in the ProfileId tag is mandatory and shall have the value LinkNotification;

  • Data in the WorkList composite is mandatory;

  • The RevocationReason in the MusicalWork composite shall not be used;

  • Data in the ResourceList composite or the ExploitationList composite is mandatory;

  • No data in the RightShareList composite shall be included in the message; and

  • Data in the RightShareNotificationList composite is mandatory if the message is sent as a response to a MusicalWorkClaimRequestMessage but the RightShareNotification/RightShare element shall not be used.
